Made By Mortals ‘bring lived experience to life’ through audio stories, film, theatre, music and interactive workshops.
Made By Mortals was founded in 2017 by Andy and his theatre maker friend, Paul Hine. It is a not-for-profit, social enterprise based in Tameside, Greater Manchester. Paul and Andy set up Made By Mortals with this question: ‘What is possible from a piece of art that has community participation at its heart?’
Today, the Made By Mortals community has grown to include university researchers and research teams, people who work in health and care, professional artists and diverse groups of people who share their lived experience to improve the lives of others. All of Made By Mortals work is co-created with this diverse community and is the beating heart of the organisation.
